<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear attachment/detachment device and a gear machining method capable of attaching/detaching a gear to be cut relative to a machining part of the gear machining device by a simple constitution. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The gear attachment/detachment device 11 is a device for conveying and positioning the gear 14 to be cut relative to the machining part of the gear machining device 10. The gear attachment/detachment device 11 includes a cassette 302 having a gear placement part 300 placed with the gear 14 to be cut; a strut 304 for resiliently supporting the cassette 302; a slider 306 fixed with the strut 304; and a base 310 having a guide rail 308 for advanceably/retreatably supporting the slider 306. The gear 14 to be cut placed on the gear placement part 300 is conveyed and positioned to the machining part by advancement/retreating action of the slider 306, and the gear 14 to be cut can be delivered to/from the machining part.
