<p>Distillation of a mixture containing salts (ionic liquid), and at least 10 ppm of a mixture of metal salt, is claimed, where: the cation of the ionic liquid contains a heterocyclic ring system with at least one nitrogen atom and all the nitrogen atoms of the heterocyclic ring system have an organic group, as a substituent; and during the distillation, the distance of the surface (evaporator surface) over which the distillation heat is supplied, to the surface (condenser surface) on which the condensation takes place at a point of less than 50 cm. Distillation of a mixture containing salts (ionic liquid) with a melting point of less than 200[deg] C at 1 bar, and at least 10 ppm (e.g. at least 10 mg of metal cation in 1 kg of the mixture) of a mixture of metal salt, is claimed, where: the cation of the ionic liquid contains a heterocyclic ring system with at least one nitrogen atom and all the nitrogen atoms of the heterocyclic ring system have an organic group, as a substituent; during the distillation, the distance of the surface (evaporator surface) over which the distillation heat is supplied, to the surface (condenser surface) on which the condensation takes place at a point of less than 50 cm; and the evaporator and condenser surfaces have at least one linear dimension of greater than 50 cm.</p> |
