<p>The present invention concerns a new device to amortize the impact of vehicles against obstacles in general and comprising a bumper (2) and means (3) to amortize the impact placed at the back of the bumper. According to the present invention the means (3) are placed on a supporting frame (4) in a sliding manner. For such aim the frame comprises some sliding seats (4') within which are placed the means (3). In such manner the above mentioned means result to be movable respect to the frame between a retracted position where the bumper (2) results substantially near the supporting frame (4) and an extended postion where the bumper is extendd externally in a way to have a restraction stroke towards said elastic means. In the extended position, being the bumper far- between the frame, has a retraction stroke d towards the amortizing elastic means (6). In the retracted position, on the other hand, being near the frame does not present longitudinal encumbrances but does not have an amortizing stroke. A control unit controls the extraction and retraction of the bumper by activating an actuator (22) in relation to the speed of the vehicle.</p> |
