PURPOSE: A portable terminal with a function for making information secret and a method for making information secret are provided to enhance security about personal information displayed on a display unit of the portable terminal. CONSTITUTION: An operation sensor(102) senses shaking generated in a portable terminal. When shaking which is stronger than a fixed level is generated in the portable terminal, a control unit(103) generates a secret signal. A secret processing unit(104) makes display information secret according to the secret signal. The display information comprises at least one of text information or image information.
