PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition for a polarizing plate, the composition to be used for a polarizing plate that constitutes a liquid crystal display and for forming a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer excellent in reworking properties and capable of preventing generation of color unevenness or a void phenomenon of a liquid crystal display caused by expansion and contraction of a polarizing plate. SOLUTION: The pressure-sensitive adhesive composition for a polarizing plate comprises a main polymer having a weight average molecular weight of not less than 1,000,000, and with respect to 100 parts by mass of the main polymer, 1 to 10 parts by mass of a monofunctional acrylate, 5 to 30 parts by mass of a polyfunctional acrylate, 0.01 to 5 parts by mass of a photopolymerization initiator, and a silane coupling agent. After the composition is subjected to crosslinking by radiation, the radiation-crosslinked moiety turns to be a gel content, while the main polymer moiety turns to be a sol content.
