<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine that a portable player is turned on from hibernation without providing a microcomputer of an AV amplifier with a power detection terminal. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A state detection circuit 16 supplies information about hibernation to UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter) lines 14 and 34 when it is detected that the portable player 20 is in hibernation. The microcomputer 31 determines information about the UART line 34 to determine that the portable player 20 is in hibernation. When it is detected that the portable player 20 is turned on from hibernation, the state detection circuit 16 supplies information about it to the UART lines 14 and 34.
