<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adequately calculate battery capacity of a secondary battery without using a correction table. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An amount of current variation, which is an amount of charged current variation to charge capacity, is calculated at the time of charging of the secondary battery, adjusted value is calculated on the basis of the amount of current variation, and the charge capacity is calculated by adding an adjusted charged current value made of the product of the adjusted value and the charged current. Furthermore, a degree of deterioration in the secondary battery is calculated on the basis of the amount of current variation, and full charge capacity is newly calculated and memorized by using the degree of deterioration at the time of full charge.
