<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save user's trouble for setting a predetermined face expression level which is a reference for automatic photography. <P>SOLUTION: At first, a "party mode" is selected as a photographing mode by a photographing mode selection section 28 and a "smiling face" is set as predetermined face expression by a face expression setting section 32. An automatic level setting section 30 automatically sets a "hearty laugh" as a smile level suitable for "the party mode".
