<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing system and a control program for quickly and properly constructing application operating environment in adding an information processing terminal which is a client to the system or the like. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A server unit is provided with a history storage means for storing history information on distributed updating data. The information processing terminal determines an updating state of the program file in the terminal and also requests transmission of the history information stored in the server unit. Then, on the basis of the history information transmitted by the server unit and the determined updating state, the updating data to update the program file are specified, the specified updating data are downloaded, and the program file is updated on the basis of the data.
