PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate for microarray to be used for manufacture of the microarray which can easily collect optical data, and a method for manufacturing the above substrate. SOLUTION: The microarray includes a first fiducial point mark and a domain with probe material immobilized, where the first fiducial point mark has a hydrophobic surface. The first fiducial point mark is a domain, in which an oxidized film of a substrate is removed from the substrate. This domain with the oxidized film removed is the domain on surface of the substrate itself with its oxidized film removed, or the domain in which the surface is coated with hydrophobe.
