Provided is a device for stirring a molten metal whereby bubbles formed by blowing a gas can be miniaturized and uniformized. A device (1) for stirring a molten metal equipped with a stirring blade (2) which is attached to the front end of a tubular shaft (3) and in which grooves (22) for the passage of a blown gas are formed radially on the bottom face (2a) thereof, characterized in that the ratio of the projected bottom area of the grooves (22) to the projected bottom area of the stirring blade (2) is adjusted to 0.20 to 0.60. The stirring blade (2) can be shaped into a disc form and the ratio of the radius of the disc to the length of the grooves (22) can be adjusted to 0.5 to 0.9.
