The present invention refers to a regulating mechanism for performing a double discharge in a toilet tank that includes two structures; the device for selecting the discharge and the device for controlling the fluid; the first device comprises a set of screws forming a concentric lever body for actuating the second device, also having the function of regulating the height at which the stopper of the drain outlet is to be raised so as to provide discharges with variable volumes, the regulating mechanism being located at the outer portion of the toilet tank, where the inner thread screw heads are visible, while the remaining mechanism is located at the inner portion of the tank. When the user urinates he may rotate the first left-hand screw so that the base may press the drain stopper and close the water flow; in case of having solid wastes, the second screw may be rotated for raising the base and completely emptying the tank, since the normal operation of the drain stopper is not stopp ed by the base.
