According to the invention, an electronic computer (3) of an automobile comprises a microcontroller (30) that controls the operation of an automobile engine, a regulator (31) of a voltage supplied to the microcontroller (30) by an electric power source (2), and a voltage step-up device (32) comprising a control means (321) suitable for activating at least one inductive load (320) coupled with the power source (2), activation which comprises successive energy accumulations and discharges by said at least one inductive load. Said at least one inductive load (320) is shared with said at least one second device (4), internal or external to the computer (3), second device of which the operation is controlled by said computer. The invention also relates to a method for controlling at least one inductive load (320) coupled with an electric power source (2) of an automobile.
