<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus allowing remarkable improvement of convenience on handling of a file or the like even when the file or the like is recorded in a state of having a hierarchical structure of a plurality of stages. <P>SOLUTION: When handling a folder or the file encrypted and recorded in an HDD 3, a browsing password of the folder and a file-decrypting password are shared.
