<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcasting receiver which has enhanced user-friendliness by adaptively changing a condition of transition determination between a plurality of broadcasting systems or modulation systems, and to provide a control method for the broadcasting receiver. <P>SOLUTION: The broadcasting receiver includes a tuner 102 for selecting a channel of broadcasting, a demodulation section 103 for demodulating a signal of a selected channel, and a decoding section 104 for decoding the demodulated signal. The broadcasting receiver further includes a BER (Bit Error Rate) monitoring section 106 for acquiring a bit error rate from the demodulation section 103 as information showing a reception state and a genre information monitoring section 107 for acquiring genre information of a program from the decoding section 104. A transition determination section 109 is provided in order to determine transition between systems and determines transition between systems on the basis of information from the BER monitoring section 106 and information from the genre information monitoring section 107. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
