AD CONVERTER, AND SOLID-STATE IMAGE SENSOR USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a digital value with a higher accuracy of AD conversion while adopting a configuration of mounting a sampling switch on the input side of a comparator used for an AD conversion.

SOLUTION: An AD converter includes: the comparator COM; and the sampling switch SW1 connected at an positive input terminal for the comparator COM. The sampling switch SW1 includes a MOS transistor having a capacitance CP between a gate 60 and one source/drain 62 smaller than the other source/drain 61. One source/drain 62 for the sampling switch SW1 is connected at the positive input terminal for the comparator COM.
