摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode catalyst comprising a multi-copper oxidase having a small overvoltage and excellent power generating efficiency, an enzyme electrode with the electrode catalyst, as well as a fuel cell and biosensor equipped with the enzyme electrode. <P>SOLUTION: The electrode catalyst includes a multi-copper oxidase having a plurality of copper atoms including at least type I copper, wherein at least one cysteine residue and two histidine residues are coordinated with the type I copper, and a proline residue which is present between the cysteine residue and a histidine residue forming a ligand loop among the two histidine residues, or a proline residue which adjoins downstream of the histidine residue forming no ligand loop of the two histidine residues is substituted with an amino acid residue except a proline residue, and a hydrogen bond is formed between the amide proton of the substituted amino acid residue and the sulfur atom of the type I copper-coordinated cysteine residue. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
