<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly control velocity and size (mass) of ink drops which are emitted. <P>SOLUTION: To a drop generator in a drop emitting apparatus, a drop emitting waveform 51 is applied in a drop emitting period and a non-emitting waveform 52 is applied in a non-emitting period. The waveform 51 is a waveform including a pulse component 61 having a first polarity followed by a second pulse component 71 having a second polarity reverse to the first, and a third pulse component 72 having the first or the second polarity. The waveform 52 is a waveform including a single non-emitting pulse component 81 having the second polarity. In this drop generator, an ink is introduced by the application of the component 61, ink droplets are fired by the application of the component 71, the meniscus is reset by the application of the component 72, and the resonance condition is maintained in a desired state by the application of the component 81. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
