SIDE AIRBAG DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SIDE AIRBAG

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve mass productivity of a side airbag by enabling the side airbag having mutually sectioned upper bag and lower bag to be easily sewed, and to improve the airtightness between the upper bag and the lower bag.

SOLUTION: Tether parts 22 for sectioning the upper bag 16 and the lower bag 18 are constituted of upper part regions 34U of lower foundation cloth 34 and are formed by sewing the upper part regions 34U with each other of the lower foundation cloth 34 folded into two using a folding axis CL as a center. A tube 24 for distributing gas for inflation to the upper bag 16 and the lower bag 18 is passed through the tether parts 22 and is extended to the lower bag 18 side and the upper bag 16 side. The tube 24 is formed into a cylindrical shape by further sewing tube foundation cloth 36 with the upper regions 34U of the lower foundation cloth 34, folding the tube foundation cloth 36 into two to a vehicle front side using the folding axis CL as a center, and sewing the front ends 36F with each other in a tube length direction.
