PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous vitrified bond grindstone excellent in its sharpness and its life and excellent in its continuity of sharpness and its grinding efficiency. SOLUTION: In the porous vitrified bond grindstone 5 having pores 4 in which diamond abrasive grains 1a, 1b and 2 are bonded by a vitrified bond 3, the diamond abrasive grains 1a, 1b and 2 include the diamond abrasive grains 1a arranged in the peripheries of the spaces of the pores 4 and the diamond abrasive grains 2 arranged in the vitrified bond 3. The individual diamond abrasive grains 1a arranged in the peripheries of the spaces of the pores 4 have surfaces in contact with the vitrified bond 3 and surfaces in contact with the spaces of the pores 4.
