PURPOSE: A system and a method for determining a rank of a document based on a contribution score are provided to improve the accuracy of document rank by using a document rank score combined with a contribution score based on the link information of the document. CONSTITUTION: A content score computation unit(201) calculates a content score of a document based on words included in a document. A contribution score computation unit(202) calculates the contribution score of the document for a common word. A rank determination unit(204) determines a rank of the documents using the contents score and the contribution score. The content score computation unit calculates the contents score in consideration of relation of the contents of the document and the words.
