<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To trace the state of a user with an authentication server. <P>SOLUTION: A trace information management part 36 having a user tracing function is provided within a RADIUS server (authentication server) 31 for storing, for each user, an IP address and an MAC address of a user terminal, an IP address and a port number of a packet repeater connected with the user terminal, log-in time and log-out time to a trace information management DB 60. An authentication server 31 obtains these pieces of information for authentication and accounting from attribute of each user stored in a user attribute management DB 50, an ARP table of the packet repeater, and an authentication log.
