PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a regrinding method capable of efficiently regrinding a shaving cutter for forming a tooth face of a gear to be gear-cut from a raw material in accordance with the use conditions, and a gear with a tooth face formed with the shaving cutter reground by the regrinding method. SOLUTION: The regrinding method is used for regrinding first and second shaving cutters 20a, 20b for forming the tooth face of the gear 14 to be gear-cut from the raw material. The regrinding method includes a first regrinding step of regrinding the first shaving cutter 20a used in a first shaving step of performing a rough finish cutting of the tooth face 28 of the gear 14 to be cut, and a second regrinding step of regrinding the second shaving cutter 20b used in a second shaving step of performing precise finish cutting of the tooth surface 28 of the gear 14 to be cut. In this case, the first regrinding with respect to the first shaving cutter 20a has a fewer number of steps than that of the second regrinding with respect to the second shaving cutter 20b.
