PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device, wherein power consumption is reduced and processing time for display rewriting is short and response is good. SOLUTION: In a step S104, a first clock PCK is supplied to an arithmetic processing section 104, and a second clock MCK is converted by a clock conversion section 105 to generate a converted clock CCK, which is supplied to a clock supply block 107. In a step S105, the arithmetic processing section 104 executes a control program in synchronization with the first clock PCK. In a step S108, an electrophoresis display section 4 in each peripheral device is supplied with driving voltage from a driving voltage generation section 181 in synchronization with the converted clock, performing a page rewriting process. In a step S109, supply of the first clock PCK to the arithmetic processing section 104 is stopped, ending the execution of the control program. During this time, the converted clock is supplied to the each peripheral device, and supply of the driving voltage to the electrophoresis display section 4 is continued.
