PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely avoid dangerous events caused by a direct fire without a cooking container during ignition operation even in a gas stove in which an appliance valve including manual on/off-valves opened by manual operation during the ignition operation of a gas burner is installed. SOLUTION: In the gas stove 1, the appliance valve 2 including the manual on/off-valves (main gas valve 24 and solenoid safety valve 25) opened manually during the ignition operation of the gas burner 11 is installed. When it is detected by a cooking container detection means 15 that no cooking container is placed during the ignition operation (S6), an ignition control means 81 performs the closing control of a gas shut-off valve 7 to shut off a gas supply passage to the gas burner 11 to prevent ignition (S12), and controls a gas amount control valve 6 to limit a gas supply amount to the gas burner 11 (S14).
