<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel supply apparatus for an internal combustion engine capable of judging abnormality of a fuel supply system during operation of an internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel supply apparatus comprises a high pressure pump control part 41 for providing a driving duty Du according to the variance to a spill valve of a high pressure fuel pump 7 for reducing a variance of a fuel pressure sensed by a fuel pressure sensor 31 and a target value, a low pressure pump control part 42 for calculating a supply power Wd to be provided to a low pressure fuel pump 6 based on a driving duty Du provided from the high pressure pump control part 41 to the spill valve for supplying the supply power Wd to the low pressure fuel pump 6, and an abnormality diagnosis countermeasure part 52 for judging that an abnormality occurs in a fuel supply system of the internal combustion engine and for specifying a failure mode included in the abnormality in the case the supply power Wd exceeds a predetermined value Wth set for each operation state of the internal combustion engine. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
