PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency of data transfer in a gateway device connecting a plurality of networks in a vehicle. SOLUTION: In a gateway device for performing data transfer between a CAN and a LIN, the timing of reception in the CAN is detected and the timing to start a communication schedule in the LIN is adjusted to start the communication schedule just after the reception timing. In the case where the communication schedule in the LIN is constituted of (transmission of) a transmission frame and (reception of) a reception frame, when the communication schedule in the LIN is started just after the reception timing in the CAN, data received in the CAN are immediately transferred to the LIN in accordance with the communication schedule, like a LIN communication schedule pattern (11), thereby improving transfer efficiency.
