PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a coil component, which can improve DC superposition characteristics while excellently maintaining inductance characteristics. SOLUTION: A core 2 is prepared which has a core portion 12 and a pair of flange portions 14, 15 arranged at both ends of the core portion 12. A second coating portion 10 is formed of a nonmagnetic material so as to cover the entire surface of one flange portion 14 between the pair of flange portions 14, 15 which faces the other flange portion 15. After the second coating portion 10 is formed of the nonmagnetic material, winding 4 is wound around the core portion 12 in contact with the core portion 12. After the winding 4 is wound, a first coating portion 8 is formed of a resin cured body containing a magnetic material in a region sandwiched between the pair of flange portions 14, 15 so as to cover the winding 4 and so as to be interposed between the other flange portion 15 out of the pair of flange portions 14, 15, and the second coating portion 10 made of the nonmagnetic material.
