<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetically recorded data erasing device which has a light weight and a small size without requiring special parts, such as a transformer, a high-breakdown voltage capacitor, a rectifier, and the like, and can generate high-density magnetic flux with safety and ease, and quickly erase magnetically recorded data. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The magnetically recorded data erasing device includes an inserter in which a magnetic storage device is inserted, a coil which surrounds the inserter, a capacitor which accumulates charge so as to supply a current to the coil, and a charging circuit which charges the capacitor. By a current being supplied from the capacitor in which charge is accumulated to the coil, a magnetic field is generated in the inserter, thereby erasing magnetically recorded data in the magnetic storage device.
