PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner capable of scanning optically and stably with high precision without requiring high cost. SOLUTION: In each troidal lens (2107a-2107d), a section near an end part on -Y side is fixed, and a section near an end part on +Y side is supported to displace in the direction corresponding to auxiliary scanning. In each optical detection sensor (2205a-2205d), a part of luminous flux before starting scanning into an effective scanning region in a photosensitive member drum enters through a scanning optical system in the corresponding station and a signal including the information about positional deviation related to the direction of auxiliary scanning of the luminous flux is outputted. A scanning controller obtains inclination of each scanning line and amount of auxiliary scanning resist deviation in the photosensitive member drums 2030a and 2030d based on the output signals of the optical detection sensor 2205a and the output signals of the optical detection sensor 2205d.
