<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passage detection device capable of detecting a passing object more precisely with a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: The passage detection device for detecting a passing object that passes through a passageway formed between a pair of main bodies opposed to each other comprises a first imaging part that is disposed on the passage side of one of the pair of the main bodies with an elevation angle for taking a first image of a predetermined range on the passage side, and a second imaging part that is disposed in parallel with the first imaging part along the passing direction of the passage with the same elevation angle as the elevation angle of the first imaging part for taking a second image of a predetermined range on the passage side.
