<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device, wherein power consumption of the display device is reduced and processing time for display rewriting is short and response is good. <P>SOLUTION: In a step S104, a first clock PCK is supplied to an arithmetic processing section 104, and a generated second clock MCK is converted by a clock conversion section 105 to generate a converted clock CCK. The converted clock CCK is supplied to a clock supply block 107. RAM 15 in each peripheral device performs information writing operation periodically in synchronization with the converted clock. In a step S105, the arithmetic processing section 104 executes a control program in synchronization with the first clock PCK. In a step S109, supply of the first clock PCK to the arithmetic processing section 104 is stopped, ending the execution of the control program.
