PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus which has an improved image quality and flexible extendability, while reducing the cost of a backend unit. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus includes: a two-dimensional drawing module 55 for generating at least two pieces of display data among (1) a tomographic image or a blood flow image, (2) the time displacement image of the tomographic image or the blood flow image in the same acoustic line position, (3) a Doppler spectrum image, (4) a three-dimensional rendering image of an object rendered by volume data about the tomographic image or the blood flow image, and (5) a cross-sectional image which is formed by cutting the object rendered by volume data about the tomographic image or the blood flow image with a plane, with respect to acoustic line data; a cine memory 53 for storing the acoustic line data or the volume data; and a cine memory control module 52 for controlling the memory area of the cine memory 53. The cine memory control module 52 secures the memory area with a memory amount necessary for generation of display data according to the kind of the display data to be generated.
