<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base station device capable of improving throughput by enabling a mobile terminal to exhibit the original performance. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The base station device 1 executes adaptive modulation between itself and a mobile terminal 2 based on standard information indicating selection standards of a modulation system corresponding to transmission path characteristics. The base station device 1 includes: an identification information-acquiring section 5a for acquiring identification information for identifying the type of the mobile terminal 2; an adaptive modulation control section 7 for executing adaptive modulation control based on the identification information acquired by the identification information-acquiring section 5a and the standard information; and a storage section 8 for storing the plurality of items of standard information set in advance corresponding to the type of the mobile terminal 2. The adaptive modulation control section 7 selects the standard information of the type of the mobile terminal corresponding to the identification information acquired by the identification information-acquiring section 7 from among the plurality of items of standard information, and executes adaptive modulation based on the selected standard information.
