<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure rice cooker which performs rice cooking after detecting that a locking mechanism between a rice cooker body and a lid is surely locked. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The pressure rice cooker including: a protrusion 5 arranged on a bottom of the rice cooker body 1; a weight detecting means 14 arranged on the protrusion 5 on the bottom of the rice cooker body 1; a controlling means 21 for controlling an induction heating coil 9 after receiving signals from a lid closing detection means 12 and the weight detecting means 14; and a lid state detecting means 23 arranged on the body 1, wherein when the lid 2 of the rice cooker body is closed, the lid closing detecting means 12 inputs a closed lid signal to the controlling means 21, the controlling means 21 memorizes that the lid 2 is properly closed when there is a continuous signal from the lid closing detecting means 12, then, when a user presses the lid 2 from above and the weight detecting means 14 detects a weight equal to or greater than a prescribed weight, the controlling means determines that the rice cooker body 1 and the lid 2 are properly locked by the locking mechanism 30, and displays a result on a lid state displaying means 23.
