Classes 132(2) and 132 (3) A toy roadway comprises a base of insulating material and two tracks 1a each having a guide groove 2 to receive a wheel 3 of a pivoted front axle assembly of a vehicle 6. Current to an electric motor 12 is supplied via conductor strips 8 and brushes 13, the brushes engaging the rims of metal wheels 15 supported by front axle 14 of insulating material. Alternatively, the brushes may contact the strips 8 directly. The strips 8 may be of sprayed or electro-deposited metal or they may be of solid inlayed metal. It is stated that the strips may be covered by the material of the roadway and power transmitted by induction. The roadway may be made in one piece or in portions joined together by means of springy clips. Fig. 6 (not shown). The current supply may be remotely controlled and scenic articles, intersections and flyovers may be provided. The roadway may comprise several tracks of contact strips and the supply of energy to the tracks may be under the control of persons at a control location so that the vehicles may be raced against each other from the control location. |
