Provided is an advantageous remote diagnosis method when the result of diagnosis based on the accurate determination of a specimen is obtained at low cost and in a short time. An image of a determination section (16) of a specimen (10), the coloration state of which is displayed, is captured by a camera section (32) provided in a portable telephone (30)and the image data of the determination section (16) is generated, and the image data is transmitted from the portable telephone (30) to a diagnostic server (40). The diagnostic server (40) detects the presence/absence or the concentration of a specific component according to the received image data, and transmits the diagnostic data corresponding to the presence/absence or the concentration of the detected specific component to the portable telephone (30).
