The area has foldings connected with a reinforcing strip by a decorative seam. A decoration cut (2) is formed from a fleece mat (6) arranged under a foam layer (5), and the reinforcing strip is a fleece strip arranged in a level of the foam layer and the fleece mat in the area. The fleece strip and the fleece mat consist of polypropylene (PP) polyethersulfone (PES)-mixed fleece. Decoration foils (4) are artificial leather and made of PVC. The foam layer is made of polyurethane, and the decoration foils are connected with each other by a work seam. An independent claim is also included for a method for production of a composite material connecting area.
