ADAPTIVE CONGESTION CONTROL METHOD AND APPARATUS OF MSCTP FOR VERTICAL HANDOVER BASED ON BANDWIDTH ESTIMATION IN HETEROGENEOUS WIRELESS NETWORKS

PURPOSE: An adaptive congestion control method of MSCTP for vertical handover between heterogeneous wireless networks and an apparatus thereof are provided to set a congestion window suitable for a new network. CONSTITUTION: A congestion window calculating unit(42) produces a congestion window suitable for a new IP network based on an available bandwidth of the new IP network measured by an available bandwidth measuring unit and a congestion window value used lastly in an existing IP network. A congestion control managing unit(43) sets the congestion window of the new IP network in an SCTP(Stream Control Transmission Protocol) session. A data transmission managing unit(44) transmits data though the new address based on the congestion window of the new window.
