<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy absorbing structure of a vehicle side for improving the deploying performance of an airbag. <P>SOLUTION: This energy absorbing structure of the vehicle side includes a seat back side frame member arranged outside in the width direction of a seat back so as to extend in the vertical direction, an airbag device installed outside in the seat width direction of this seat back side frame member and having the airbag inflating and deploying when a vehicle collides, and a backboard for covering at least part of a side surface of the seat back, and is arranged so that the front end of the airbag device is positioned in front of the vehicle more than a front end of the backboard in a seat side view. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
