PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data management system which is easily constructed and improves security.

SOLUTION: In the data management system, time is measured by a timer 29, and whether a prescribed period of time passes is determined (S12). When the prescribed period of time passes (Yes in S12), whether a data holding signal from a reader/writer 12 is received via an antenna 26 is determined (S13). When it is not determined that the data holding signal is received (Yes in S15), data stored in a memory 22 are deleted by using the energy of a battery 23 embedded in an RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tag 21 (S17).
