PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid sucking device which secures the moisture retention of a nozzle surface after being left for a long period of time by preventing the lowering of a sucking force at the suction of the liquid of the nozzle surface in a state that the discharging properties of liquid and the moisture retention of liquid by making them compatible, and a liquid injection device of a liquid injection head. SOLUTION: The liquid sucking device includes: openings 210 and 211 opposing nozzle openings 55A-55D of a nozzle surface 61; a body 80 which can seal the nozzle surface 61 by making the openings 210 and 211 face the nozzle openings 55A-55D; first absorbent materials 300 301 for absorbing the liquid of the nozzle surface 61 in the body 80; and a second absorbent material 303 which is arranged in the body 80 and has the moisture retention of liquid higher than the moisture retention of liquid by the first absorbent materials 300 and 301 in a state that the first absorbent materials 300 and 301 and the second absorbent material 303 are arranged toward the planar direction opposing the nozzle surface 61 and the first absorbent materials 300 and 301 are located at positions corresponding to the nozzle openings 55A-55D through the openings 210 and 211, and in addition, the second absorbent material 303 is covered with the body 80.
