<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intermediate transfer body capable of sustaining stable image characteristics over a long term without causing irregularities in an image from an initial stage of printing, and to provide an electrophotographic device using the intermediate transfer body. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The electrophotographic device forms an image by transferring a toner image that does not contain an offset preventing agent on a surface of a photoreceptor having a photoconductor layer to the intermediate transfer body and transferring the toner image on the intermediate transfer body to a supporting body. The device has a lubricant coating device and a cleaning mechanism comprising a blade, for suppressing toner filming and improving cleaning performance on the surface of the photoreceptor. A solution is applied and dried which contains: one or more of particulate silica, particulate metal powder, particulate colorant, particulate charge control agent and particulates of silicone material, which can be dispersed at least in a solvent; and one or more resin or oily material, which can be dissolved in a solvent. Thus, fine comparatively uniform ruggedness excellent in releasing property is formed on a surface of the intermediate transfer body and is used as a surface treatment layer.
