PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an axle box support device for a railroad vehicle easy in handling, and particularly superior in work efficiency in assembling, by performing installation work by fastening a bolt by a reference torque via push metal, when installing the mandrel of a shaft beam on a receiving seat on the carriage frame side. SOLUTION: A base end cylindrical part 6 of the shaft beam 5 is divided into two sections in the longitudinal direction, and the mandrel 7 is sandwiched from the longitudinal direction between these divided base end cylindrical parts 6a and 6b, and the base end cylindrical part 6 is integrally fixed with a plurality of bolts 13 by interposing an elastic member 8. While projecting a semi-columnar part 7a having the upper side of a semicircular shape to both sides from both side surface central parts of the mandrel 7, a lower end opening inverse U-shaped fitting groove 3a to be fitted with this semi-columnar part 7a is respectively arranged in the receiving seat 3 arranged on a side beam 2a of a support frame 2, and the mandrel 7 is fastened with bolts 12 and fixed to the under surface of the receiving seat 3 by the push metal 9 having a projecting part 9a to be fitted to the lower end opening of the fitting groove 3a in a state of fitting the semi-columnar part 7a in the fitting groove 3a.
