<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce vibration and noise by appropriately installing a washing machine body so as to be horizontal with respect to a floor surface. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A washing machine includes: a water reception tub 3 having a rotary drum 1 inside; a biaxial or triaxial acceleration detecting means 15 attached to the water reception tub 3; an input setting means 18; a display means 19; and a control means 17 for controlling a series of washing operations. The control means 17 is configured to set a special operation motion for confirming whether the washing machine is appropriately installed or not. The inclination of the installed washing machine body 9 is detected based on a detection value detected by the acceleration detecting means 15. The inclination degree is displayed in the display means, thereby an installer or a user adjusts the washing machine body 9 to be horizontal, Thus, the vibration and noise are reduced in spin drying.
