The bolt (1) has a shearing area (3) provided below a bolt head (2). A bolt shaft (4) is provided with a locking ring (5) and a reference breaking point (6), where the bolt is made of steel with average carbon content. The bolt shaft is attached at the shearing area. A functional area encompasses the shearing area on one side, and the shaft is provided as an area, which possess different rigidity characteristics with respect to the functional area. The functional area is designed as a partial inductive hardened area. The head is designed as a flat round head, countersunk head or large head. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a locking ring bolt.
