A process for producing a liquid crystal display device comprising smectic or chiral nematic liquid crystal material, comprising: providing an LC panel comprising a pair of substrates; and filling the space between the pair of substrates with the liquid crystal material, while adjusting the liquid crystal molecular primary axis along with the pre-set or pre-designed alignment direction, and while adjusting the liquid crystal moving direction in the space between the pair of substrates at the filling of the liquid crystal material along with the pre-set alignment direction.
