<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure prevented from positionally deviating in a can while it is held therein, excellent in cleaning performance, and excellent in heat shock resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The honeycomb structure 100 includes a honeycomb-shaped porous substrate 5 having an inner cylindrical part 11 which has ceramic-based porous partition walls 4a partitioning a plurality of cells 3a extending from one end face 1a to the other end face 2a and serving as fluid passages, and an outer cylindrical part 21 having ceramic-based porous partition walls 4b partitioning a plurality of cells 3b extending from one end face 1b to the other end face 2b, serving as fluid passages, and disposed so as to surround the external circumference 12 of the inner cylindrical part 11, wherein at least the end face of one side of the outer cylindrical part 21 is tapered in a manner that its outside diameter gradually becomes thinner toward the end 22. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
