<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately obtain the state of tire transfer in which a tire is not accurately mounted to a prescribed position of a second position, to prevent reductions in tire inspection accuracy and measurement accuracy, and to prevent damage to inspection cameras. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In monitoring the state of tire transfer for transferring a tire 40 placed at a first position 21 over the second position 22 and mounting the tire 40 to the second position 22, one or more types of comparison images are compared with a reference image obtained by photographing the tire 40 placed in such a state that its equatorial plane 41 may be a horizontal plane before being gripped by a gripping device 10 to determine anomalies in the state of tire transfer in a method for determining the state of tire transfer. The comparison images are one or more types of comparison images obtained by photographing the tire 40 immediately before being gripped by the gripping device 10 and transferred, comparison images obtained by photographing the tire 40 in a state of being gripped by the gripping device 10 and transferred toward the second position 22; and comparison images obtaind by photographing the tire 40 mounted to the second position 22.
