<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple rotation measuring apparatus using optical pulses. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The rotation measuring apparatus comprises: a rotator formed in an object body of rotation measurement in such a way as not to relatively rotate and having both a through-hole passed through a rotating shaft of the rotator and passed in a direction at right angles to the rotating shaft and a cylinder side surface part having the rotating shaft as a center axis and formed in the radial direction of the rotator centered on the point of intersection between the axes of the rotating shaft and the through-hole in the direction of the rotating shaft; a pair of light receivers/projectors arranged at positions opposite to each other on both sides of the rotating shaft and facing the rotator, one for receiving light while the other is projecting optical pulses; and an optical pulse counter for counting optical pulses received by each of the pair of light receivers/projectors and comparing and computing the optical pulses counted for every wavelength.
